Nutrien Ag Solutions invests $2.8m in regional communities
In 2023, Nutrien Ag Solutions injected more than $2.8 million into Australian communities.
Nutrien’s Corporate Affairs Advisor Mady Muirhead said Nutrien’s national flagship programs continued to support the resilience and success of ag communities.
“In partnership with CareFlight, we delivered emergency trauma training to 45 locations across regional Australia in 2023. Participants learnt vital life-saving skills and knowledge tailored to the ag industry and region they operate in,” said Ms Muirhead.
“The Report also highlights the continued success of the Nutrien Ag Solutions Community Grants program which supported 57 community-led projects, and our CRT Primary Schools program which gifted $50,000 to enhance the school experience for regional primary school students.
“Our teams across every corner of Australia also invested funding and thousands of volunteer hours into supporting local club sponsorships, community events, school programs and other grass-roots partnerships to help their community thrive,” said Ms Muirhead.
2023 Community Impact Report highlights:
- Nutrien’s workforce turned blue in May for Dolly’s Dream and raised over $62,000 for anti-bullying initiatives.
- Support for 10 projects in flood affected communities across Australia through a $150,000 donation to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal. Plus, an additional $10,000 to kick-start a fundraising campaign by Rural Aid and the Kimberley Pilbara Cattlemen’s Association following some of the worst flooding in Western Australia’s history.
- Nutrien’s workplace giving platform matched employee donations to a range of Australian charities.
- New partnership with universities across Australia to encourage more students to consider a career in agriculture through the launch of Nutrien’s Harvesting the Future Scholarship program.
- Nutrien’s Katherine branch held a charity auction which helped raise $177,000 for the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association.
“Not only is agriculture an important source of economic growth, it’s also the lifeblood of our regional and rural communities. That’s why we partner with our farming communities to support the activities, projects, and services they need to be strong socially, environmentally and economically,” said Ms Muirhead.
“In 2024 our focus will remain on sustainable agriculture with focus on education and young people. We are also looking forward to celebrating 50 years of Country Football in WA, the next round of CareFlight training is underway, and there’s much more in the works to support our ag communities.”
