Nutrien Boulton’s steers set to raise funds for Dolly’s Dream at Wauchope Sale

Two Angus cross steers will go under the hammer at the Nutrien Boulton’s Wauchope Spring Hobby Farmer Sale on October 19, raising funds for Dolly’s Dream.

Nutrien Boulton’s Agent Andrew Lawrence and Business Director Simon Newton personally purchased the steers at a Wauchope Store Sale in August, and then donated them to the charity auction.

“The steers will be fattened at Andrew’s feedlot complex with no expense spared, thanks to Nutrien Ag Solutions who are donating the feed required to bring them to market” said Nutrien Boulton’s Director Mat Larkings.

To maximise the auction’s impact, Nutrien Boulton’s is encouraging local butchers, including major chains, to bid on the cattle.

“These are quality steers being raised to ideal specifications, making them perfect butcher cattle. They are currently putting on an average of 2.2 kilograms per day,” said Mat.

“We won’t be charging any selling or yard fees, with 100% of the proceeds going to Dolly’s Dream – a cause very close to our hearts.

"We each have a personal connection to Dolly Everett’s family, and while we all wear the blue shirts and raise funds on Do It For Dolly Day each May, it’s important to stay committed to changing the culture of online bullying all year round. Most of us have young kids, so this is a cause that resonates deeply with our team and community.”

New team member Maddie Davidson will conduct the charity auction and is excited about the opportunity.

“I am not only excited but honoured to be a part of this charity event. This will be my first time selling livestock and I look forward to raising funds for Dolly’s Dream, a charity that I have personally supported since it started in 2018.”

The Angus x Santa Gertrudis steers will be the first two animals sold on the day, with photos and videos available on StockLive a week prior.
